"The Church isn't making disciples!"
This incensed cry came recently from a Bible school student, as he began to understand the essence of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20: "Therefore make disciples of all nations…"
He's right. We are seeing people put their faith in Jesus Christ in unprecedented numbers all over the world. But the odds are that they will not be established in their faith, let alone grow to maturity in Christ.
Why? Because those of us old enough to know better don't know how to mentor them or don't have the confidence to begin (or both).
